When you have leftover watermelon or any fruit just turn it into sorbet and make it in the NInja creami using the sorbet setting.

This method can be done with any type of fruit as well. In fact, any type of melon fruit such as cantaloupe, honey dew, or musk melon will be great if you don't like watermelon.

Ingredients Needed

  • 2 cups of watermelon, cut into chunks

How to Make Sorbet in a Ninja Creami

  1. Add the cut up watermelon plus it’s juice to one of the pints the Ninja Creami came with.
  2. Set the pint in the freezer for 24 hours.
  3. When the ice cream is ready use the Sorbet setting on your Ninja Creami machine.
  4. Choose respin again until it’s the desired consistency you like.
  5. Enjoy!

Tips for Ninja Creami’s

  • Ninja Creami’s can make smoothie bowls, ice cream, gelato, sorbet, and even milkshakes!
  • For sorbets use canned fruit or fresh fruit. It just doesn’t make any sense to defrost frozen fruit then refreeze it in the Ninja Creami machine.
  • If the blending didn’t work the first time try adding some more juice or milk to it and do a second respin.
  • Find a good base ice cream for vanilla and you can add whatever toppings you like to the ice cream for mix ins.
  • The Ninja Creami is kind of loud when it is spinning in the machine. Just warning you before you attempt to make ice cream. 🙂

Recipe FAQS

How to tell if a Watermelon is Ripe?

Usually, when I buy a watermelon I'll look to see if the bottom of the melon is green or slightly yellow color. I know there are probably other ways of finding a ripe watermelon out there but this method usually works for me. Have any tips on finding a good watermelon, leave them below.

Is blended fruit more points on WW?

If you're on the WW diet, blended fruit is actually zero points! According to WW themselves, even sorbets and banana ice cream still zero points. Want to know why? Find out reading this article.

Basic 0 Points Banana Ice Cream.
Smoothies or juice you’re drinking will not promote the same amount of fullness between meals as eating fruit might. Whereas here when you are eating the ice cream with a spoon, you are experiencing the act of eating, and are less likely to over-indulge. - From WW Canada site.

Can I use frozen fruit in my Ninja Creami?

Using frozen fruit is ok in a Ninja Creami but I prefer fresh fruit over frozen. There's just something about using frozen fruit and adding it to the pint. It's like it's being frozen twice and I don't think that's necessary.

Why is my Ninja sorbet crumbly after the first spin?

Sometimes after the first spin, the fruit will almost appear to look like powder. I like to add any type of fruit juice and then spin it for a second time.
